Housing Support Specialist
About the Role:We are seeking an experienced Housing Support Specialist to join our team in Geraldton. This is a part-time opportunity working 14 hours per week at level 4.1 of $43.08 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide supportive services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness, utilizing the Housing First Model and collective impact approach.
- Link people sleeping rough with appropriate support services including health, mental health, employment, financial management, and social support.
- Offer ongoing support to clients in maintaining their tenancy.
- Participate in outreach services at multiple locations.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings.
- Formal qualification in Social Services or a related field.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations or lived experience of mental health issues.
- Sound knowledge of health, mental health, legal, housing, and mainstream support services available in Geraldton.
- Cultural sensitivity and understanding of issues affecting First Nations people.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to drive a heavy-duty vehicle.
- Neutral and non-judgmental approach when interacting with clients.
- Able to work within the philosophy and ethos of the organization.
