General Manager Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned leader to spearhead our Melbourne operations. As the General Manager, you will lead an established Victorian leadership team and report directly to the Vice President for Australia and New Zealand.

This strategic role requires driving business growth and transformation through data analysis, improving efficiency, and increasing profits. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in senior leadership roles within the print and packaging manufacturing sector, specifically within the FMCG industry, with substantial sales and commercial focus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • General Business Management: Oversee strategic and tactical business analysis and planning, including annual, three-year, and five-year business plans.
  • Operational Excellence: Maintain safety, quality, and asset control standards and processes, fostering a culture of operational excellence across all areas.
  • Business Development: Drive commercial performance by proposing new strategies and tactics that increase sales and identify potential market growth areas.
  • People Management: Deliver effective communication of company strategy to team members, inspiring day-to-day performance through translation into operational goals.
  • Leadership: Be an engaged member of the ANZ leadership team, facilitating consultation, open debate, and collaboration on business issues.

The successful candidate will possess undergraduate qualifications in a relevant business discipline, preferably with postgraduate or MBA qualifications. A proven track record of delivering on business targets, excellent communication skills, and experience leading high-performing production teams in fast-paced environments are essential.
