Job Title: Community Liaison Officer

  • We are seeking a skilled and culturally aware individual to support the education of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students at Karratha Senior High School.

The Role

  • As a Community Liaison Officer, you will act as a liaison between the community and the school to develop an education program that meets the cultural and educational needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will establish positive working relationships with families and the local community to promote cross-cultural understanding and cooperation.
  • Work closely with teachers, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of the education program.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes and engagement in education.

Requirements

  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • Hold a degree in Education, Social Work, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment.
