
Culturally Responsive Education Specialist

This position is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, their families, and the wider community.
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing support and assistance to these students, particularly those at risk, through mentoring, pastoral care, and education programs that are tailored to meet their unique needs and cultural backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:- Developing and implementing education programs that are responsive to the cultural, social, and emotional needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students;
- Providing individualized support and guidance to students, focusing on improving their participation and achievement in the school environment;
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to identify and address the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students;
- Acting as a liaison between the school and the community, fostering positive relationships and promoting a culture of inclusivity and respect.
- A strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and contemporary issues;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse stakeholders;
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, prioritizing the needs of others and contributing to a positive and supportive workplace culture;
- Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment.
