
Infrastructure Development Specialist

The primary objective of this role is to oversee the development and delivery of routine and programmed maintenance programs, as well as road rehabilitation projects within the district. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient procedures are implemented and best practice is achieved in contract performance and construction practices.
Key Responsibilities- Manage operational aspects of project delivery to ensure effective use of systems and processes involved with all phases of the project management model;
- Maintain and apply relevant standards, policies, guidelines, and legislative requirements necessary to support informed decision-making and courses of action for road infrastructure projects;
- Identify and address quality and environmental aspects of the project to maintain effective operation and project delivery;
- Provide guidance on planning and design suitability and options, material selection, resource allocation, and construction practices to ensure project success and value for money;
- Supervise and coordinate resource allocation while promoting teamwork and fostering a positive attitude toward achieving organisational objectives;
- Establish and manage networks and alliances with stakeholders, identifying potential issues and managing expectations in a timely and professional manner.
- Proven experience in project management, particularly in the context of infrastructure development;
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders;
- Ability to maintain accurate records and reports, with a focus on quality and timeliness;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
- Knowledge of construction practices, materials, and equipment;
- Understanding of budgeting and financial management principles;
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines;
- Highly organised and self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic.
