Job Description:

The Advisor, Government Relations and Policy plays a crucial role within the Government Relations and Policy team. This individual is responsible for engaging with federal and state Governments and oppositions, managing ANZ's relationship with the Australian Banking Association (ABA), and assisting in the preparation for appearances before Parliamentary committees and other external bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and respond constructively to Australian Government policy
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to promote awareness of relevant policy developments
  • Assist in the preparation for appearances before Parliamentary committees and other external bodies
  • Help manage ANZ's engagement with the ABA

Role Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will require exceptional analytical skills concerning legal, commercial, and policy matters. You must have a strong track record of building enduring and respectful relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex matters for diverse external and internal audiences, are essential. A sound understanding of the Australian policy and political environment is also required.
