Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Policy Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Strategic Basins Team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the responsible development of Australia's energy resources while promoting the transition to net-zero.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to research and analysis on the resources sector, government policy agenda, and whole-of-government issues such as trade, climate change, the environment, skills, technology, and policy relating to Indigenous Australians.
  • Provide high-quality advice to the department's Executive and the relevant Minister.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, including other Commonwealth agencies, state governments, and the private sector.
  • Develop strategies to ensure benefits associated with resources development are realised and shared across local communities.

Team Description

The Strategic Basins Team supports the Australian Government's efforts to co-ordinate and support new resources developments. We work closely with state and territory governments and the private sector to provide advice to the government and develop policies that support a strong and innovative resources sector.

Requirements

  • Australian citizenship.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications.

Security Clearance

The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
