Naval Architect

We are seeking a skilled Naval Architect to join our team. As a key member, you will provide technical expertise and contribute to the success of our projects.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in naval architecture and experience working on defence or maritime projects. They will also possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and approve maintenance work instructions and defect investigations
  • Provide expert advice on operational and maintenance products across the RMC-E Enterprise
  • Assess and mark up design drawings where ship conditions vary from the baseline
  • Support ECP incorporations during installation and compliance activities
  • Contribute to maintenance planning and configuration accuracy
  • Assist Technical Writers with content accuracy and document quality
Requirements:
  • Degree in Naval Architecture with 3+ years' experience in Defence or maritime projects
  • Eligible for membership with IEAust or RINA
  • Understanding of ship structures and platform systems, including relevant rules and codes
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to assess technical alternatives
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
