Environmental Compliance Specialist

About the Role

The primary purpose of this role is to facilitate and create effective and efficient compliance systems and processes, in relation to environmental legislative compliance and policy requirements, for Legal Aid NSW.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage, collaborate, and consult with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and policies.
  • Develop and implement compliance systems and processes to ensure quality outcomes for the organization.
  • Participate in inspections and investigations to identify and assess compliance issues and risks.
  • Provide effective advice to teams across the organization on environmental management and compliance.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate positive stakeholder engagement.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in environmental sciences, environmental management, or a related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the organization's policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently to drive projects and initiatives to achieve quality outcomes.
  • High level analytical and research skills to apply to current issues and priorities.

About You

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our dynamic team, with experience in public and/or environmental health, relating to legislative compliance and/or environmental management. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to work well independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
