The role of a Deputy Operations Manager is a key appointment for someone who can drive performance, efficiency, and operational excellence in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead production teams to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) in safety, quality, output, and cost.
  • Ensure all machinery maintenance and pre-start checks are completed and documented across operations.
  • Create and manage production plans, delivery schedules, and processes.
  • Collaborate with the inventory team to procure production components and raw materials on time.
  • Document and provide reports of forecasted production and delivery dates.
  • Engage and motivate teams across manufacturing, maintenance/engineering, and logistics to achieve individual, team, and site objectives.
  • Foster a culture of business improvement to ensure continuous results and performance enhancement.
  • Promote a safety-first culture across the site, ensuring WHS processes are in place, including induction, training, and safety programs.
  • Drive excellence in safety performance, risk awareness, and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Develop, track, and monitor KPIs including labour optimization, overtime, OEE, throughput rates, and inventory.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of operations leadership experience, responsible for leading manufacturing and logistics teams.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing and logistics operations management, specifically in developing high-performing teams.
  • Knowledge of inventory management concepts and methodologies.
  • A thorough understanding of production planning within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong continuous improvement background with a good grasp of LEAN / Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Good commercial acumen, able to understand and manage finances with the ability to identify key cost drivers.
  • Strong communication, coaching, consultation, and negotiation skills to engage internal stakeholders.
