Job Opportunity: Senior Logistics Professional

Bechtel Global is seeking a project logistics specialist based in Brisbane, Australia. The home office will be responsible for supervising logistics personnel and managing logistics responsibilities on the project.

The successful candidate will perform work as a logistics technical or commercial role supporting a moderate-sized project with a moderate scope. They will be a deployed, dedicated resource in the home office or field.

Business/project travel may be required at the request of the Project Supply Chain Manager, Project Logistic Manager, or BGL Regional Logistics Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform domestic and international multi-leg shipment responsibilities to ensure safe, timely, and economical delivery of goods to meet project requirements.
  • Coordinate shipments with internal and external entities.
  • Ensure entry of shipment tracking data into Transport Management System (TMS) and other functional tools/systems to provide visibility of shipment status.
  • Prepare logistics reports or performance metrics as required to satisfy project information requirements.
  • Ensure audit and processing of Logistics Service Provider invoices in accordance with project procedures.
  • Identify transport cost and service alternatives to support materials/equipment purchase decisions and use of Logistics Service Providers.
  • Assist the project Logistics Lead as requested.
  • File and resolve Logistics Service Provider claims.
  • Prepare Logistics Service Provider commercial bid tabs, commitment authorizations, and contract documents.
  • Prepare logistics studies including site and Logistics Service Provider facility visits.
  • Integrate safety requirements and measures in all logistics activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 5 to 8 years of relevant experience or 9 to 12 years of relevant work experience.
  • Home, Field, and deployed project experience preferred.
  • Chain of Responsibility (CoR)/Transport Assurance proficient knowledge, certification preferred.
  • Experience with medium to large-scale projects highly regarded.
