At Dreamworld, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Wildlife Officer to join our team. As a key member of our wildlife team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional animal care and management for our captive bird and mammal collection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Feeding, cleaning, breeding, record keeping, and treatments for our animal collection
- Preparation of procedures and reports to ensure the highest standard of animal care
- Conducting risk assessments and general safety management to ensure a safe working environment
- Guest interaction, including assisting with wildlife talks, presentations, and management of feedback
- Liaising with external partners and affiliations to promote our conservation efforts
- Supporting management in the leadership of the Wildlife team
- Assisting with public relations and marketing promotional activities to promote our conservation efforts
Requirements:
- Thorough knowledge and extensive experience working with Australian native fauna, specifically birds and mammals
- Ability to share knowledge and train, mentor, and develop fellow team members
- Animal husbandry qualifications or progressive study towards a Certificate in Wildlife and Exhibited Animals
- Leadership experience is desirable
- Flexibility with working hours across a 7-day roster, including weekend work
- Current manual driver's license
