As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in underwriting business while adhering to our Underwriting Framework and Strategy. You will be responsible for providing quotations for new business and renewals, taking into account the needs and circumstances of customers as well as agreed service standards.

Key responsibilities include case underwriting, assessing risk on an individual basis, and assisting with the development and retention of existing business. You will also ensure that all business underwritten enhances portfolio targets and profitability, and that underwriting bias is given to risks that display better than average profitability through selection and prudent underwriting.

In addition, you will effectively manage workflows and phone queues to ensure delivery of quality products and services. You will also manage relationships across various distribution channels as per delegated authority limits.

You will accurately interpret, anticipate, and provide solutions to customers' needs from available information to design sustainable responses to suit customer circumstances and address their needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A comprehensive understanding of relevant regulatory and/or legislative compliance requirements that affect the organisation.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm and ability to optimise business value to customers by delivering high-quality services and positive customer experiences to sustain and enhance the customer base.
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns, trends, and links that inform judgements and solutions.
  • Paying high attention to detail by completing tasks with thoroughness and accuracy and having the ability to quickly identify errors or inconsistencies within information.
  • Ability to interpret and analyse complex information, extract meaningful insights, and evaluate options for decision-making.
