Research Position in Critical Minerals

Classification: Academic Level B

The successful candidate will be an independent and motivated geoscientist with expertise in solid media high pressure experimental petrology and a range of microbeam techniques used for characterisation and quantitative analysis of experimental run products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigating the geochemical behaviour of critical metals in the Earth's crust as a function of variables such as composition, temperature, pressure and oxygen fugacity.
  • Understanding how critical metals are mobilised and concentrated in the crust to form ore-bodies.

The appointee will have a demonstrated record of academic excellence in research, as measured by publications, funding awarded or other esteem measures. They will be familiar with key concepts around the geology and formation of critical minerals deposits.

The Australian National University (ANU) College of Science and Medicine is home to world-class facilities and extensive international networks. The successful candidate will contribute to a research-led education program that encompasses the entire breadth of the sciences.
