Mental Health Support Specialist

We are seeking a support professional to fill a key role in our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality support services to individuals with mental health issues, enabling them to access community resources.
- Provide case coordination and support services for clients
- Establish positive relationships with service users, staff and other organisations
- Promote the organisation's services in a professional manner
- Assess client safety, planning and intervening where appropriate
- Reporting - ensure that reports are prompt and an accurate record of observations, risks, interactions and dynamics
The ideal candidate will have a Certificate III or above in social work, psychology, community services or mental health, or demonstrated equivalent experience and working towards a qualification.
Key skills and qualities include:
- Knowledge of mental health issues and their impact on a person's life
- Skills in establishing rapport, respectfully communicating expectations and being assertive
- Experience relating to and building rapport with people
- Knowledge of child protection systems and NDIS (optional)
- Excellent observation, written and verbal communication skills
- Working with Children's Check and Police Check
- First Aid Certificate desirable
