Assistant in Nursing Role Overview

  • Our organisation is seeking a compassionate and skilled Assistant in Nursing (AIN) to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with residents who value independence and dignity.
  • You will be responsible for providing respectful and tailored support to each resident, empowering their choices and independence. This includes monitoring their preferences, needs, and wellbeing, and escalating any changes as required.
  • As an AIN, you will also provide assistance with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, grooming, and oral care, while maintaining a nurturing eye on each resident throughout the day.
  • Additionally, you will engage with residents through social and emotional support, create smiles, listen to life stories, learn about cultures, and share yours. You will also help keep residents mobile, assist them during mealtimes, and participate in lifestyle activities that nourish their mind, body, and spirit connection.
  • Documentation and incident reporting are essential aspects of this role, and you will stay on top of these tasks while participating in Work Health and Safety programs to ensure a smooth and secure environment.

What We're Looking For

  • A true passion for caring for others beyond just doing a job
  • A caring credential - a Certificate III or higher in Individual Support, Nursing, or related health/care studies
  • Prior experience as a personal carer in aged care is beneficial, but we offer training for new starters
  • A commitment to holistic care supporting residents' goals and needs
  • Currently studying nursing with completed aged care clinical placement or overseas nursing qualification welcome
