Heavy Plant Operator

Operating heavy plant machinery requires a combination of skills and experience.

  • Excavating, loading, transporting soil, gravel, and other materials to compact and/or cover waste in accordance with company and contractual requirements and applicable regulations.

Key responsibilities include operating earthmoving heavy plant machinery, preparing and positioning equipment, monitoring its operation, and identifying any defects. The role also involves excavating and transporting materials, as well as complying with all relevant safety practices and procedures.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience (4+ years) with capable precision work.
  • Current operator tickets, licences, or statements of attainment.
  • High understanding of the importance of health and safety.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and perform maintenance on machinery and equipment.
