
Palliative Care Specialist

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Palliative Care Specialist to join our team at Western Sydney Local Health District. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality care to patients and their families, leading clinical services and implementing quality improvements in palliative care.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide optimal psychosocial support to patients, families, and carers, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care.
- To lead clinical services and implement service improvements in palliative care, ensuring evidence-based practices and effective patient outcomes.
Essential Qualifications:
- Degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the AASW.
- Experience as a counselling clinician in palliative care or other clinical settings involving life-limiting illnesses.
- Demonstrated skills in psychosocial assessments, individual and family counselling, crisis intervention, advocacy, negotiation, and problem-solving.
