About the Sustainability Role

This is a high-impact opportunity to join our team as a Sustainability Analyst. You will lead our climate data and reporting program, delivering insights and analysis that inform our sustainability priorities, regulatory obligations, and reporting.

  • We are focusing on achieving AusNet's climate change targets and sustainability goals.
  • Strategic clarity across the business will be achieved through enterprise-wide engagement.
  • Continuous improvement in climate reporting, systems, and data governance will be pursued.

You'll collaborate across the organisation and externally to:

  • Deliver audit-ready climate accounts for NGERs and ASRS S2.
  • Monitor and report on emissions performance and targets.
  • Develop our first Scope 3 emissions inventory.
  • Calibrate and manage a new climate data system and dashboard.
  • Lead internal and external climate data audits and assurance processes.
  • Support decarbonisation initiatives and ESG reporting.

About You

We're looking for a curious, analytical thinker who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about sustainability. You ask smart questions, simplify complexity, and continuously test and learn.

  • An undergraduate degree in Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Science or equivalent, or relevant work experience is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in climate change data and reporting or a sustainability role is necessary.
  • Direct experience with climate reporting frameworks (e.g. NGERs) is essential.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills are required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to brief and influence senior leadership, are expected.

What We Offer

We celebrate unique voices, refreshing perspectives, and diversity in our team. Engage and connect through social activities, family events, or by joining one of our Employee Network Groups.

  • We offer flexibility: whether this is hybrid work, flexible hours, or part-time arrangements, we'll work with you to help balance work and life.
  • We provide more than typical personal leave and a generous 14 weeks of paid parental leave, with no minimum service.
  • We support community giving: a paid day to volunteer with our social impact partner or for a cause that matters to you.

Culture and Work Environment

We strive to create an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and supported. Our team is passionate about making a positive impact on the environment and society.

  • We foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • We prioritize employee well-being and offer resources to support mental health and physical fitness.
  • We promote work-life balance and provide opportunities for professional development and growth.
