About The Role

The successful candidate will lead a talented team and play a pivotal role in delivering accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll services for our organisation. Key Responsibilities

  2. Manage end-to-end payroll operations for a medium-to-large workforce, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
  3. Oversee fortnightly cycles, superannuation, PAYG, deductions, and leave entitlements.
  4. Drive the transition to in-house payroll, including system optimisation and process redesign.
  5. Act as a subject matter expert on payroll legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements.
  6. Lead payroll audits, internal controls, and risk mitigation strategies.
  7. Partner with Finance and People teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and workforce planning.
  8. Champion innovation by improving payroll systems and integrating new technology.
  9. Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and deliver exceptional service to leaders and employees.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  1. 10+ years' experience managing payroll in a medium-to-large organisation.
  2. Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements.
  3. Proven leadership experience with a track record of team development and service excellence.
  4. Payroll systems expertise, ideally Chris21/iChris, plus strong Microsoft Office skills.
  5. A relevant qualification in HR, Finance, or a related field (postgraduate study is a plus).
  6. Banking/finance industry knowledge is desirable but not essential.
You'll Thrive Here If You
