
Experienced Donor Engagement Specialist

Laniado Hospital is seeking a seasoned Fundraising Professional to develop and execute strategic plans for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors with a focus on securing significant gifts from targeted geographic regions.
This role will be responsible for collaborating with the Board Development Committee, key lay leaders, and staff to ensure a unified approach to donor engagement and cultivation. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of identifying, cultivating, and soliciting five-, six-, and seven-figure gifts from individual and family foundations.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, designing and implementing strategies for their cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Design and execute individualized development plans for significant donors and prospects, leveraging the expertise of lay leaders and staff.
- Convert one-time gifts to annual giving by developing alternative cultivation plans.
- Support regional receptions by providing stewardship and follow-up with donors and prospects, working closely with the programs and partnership team to maximize event attendance and giving.
- Serve as the account manager for other key solicitors, such as Board Members, supporting their fundraising activities with donor research, materials preparation, and follow-up.
- Identify and cultivate foundation prospects, working with colleagues to submit relevant requests and reports.
- Manage various development programs and activities, including crowdfunding campaigns, auctions, and company-wide initiatives, as a representative of the development team.
- Assist the VP of Development in creating the annual development strategy and plan for the organization.
- Attend industry conferences to support annual stewardship and cultivation goals, conducting donor research and drafting proposals as needed.
- Effectively utilize the donor database, making timely and detailed entries, and generating relevant reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- At least five years of successful fundraising experience within a Jewish communal, higher education, or nonprofit setting.
- Ability to collaborate with team members and work independently.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
- Talent for interacting with diplomacy and tact amid influential constituents and diverse groups.
- Results-oriented with a desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Self-starter with entrepreneurial thinking to generate new approaches in addition to implementing prescribed plans.
- Proven customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills; excellent judgment and decision-making ability.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high work quality.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite projects (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated ability to be successful working across various populations of the Jewish community.
- Ability to occasionally work non-traditional hours based on operational needs of working in a global environment with staff in multiple time zones.
- Prior experience in using Sales Force or other donor databases preferred.
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally to meet with donors and attend events.
