Job Description

The Senior Trade Measurement Officer role at the National Measurement Institute is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills. As a key member of the Trade Measurement Services team, you will be responsible for leading a team of trade measurement officers, coordinating inspections, and implementing compliance programs to ensure accurate measurement in the marketplace.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of trade measurement officers to deliver quality outcomes from trade measurement services functions
  • Establish local inspection priorities to meet compliance targets provided by the National Workplan
  • Plan, implement, monitor, and report on compliance programs by coordinating and conducting inspections of traders, packing houses, and licensees
  • Negotiate, liaise, and provide high-level technical/specialist advice to internal and external stakeholders

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Certificate IV in Government Investigations (or equivalent)
  • A Certificate IV in Trade Measurement (or greater)
  • A qualification that demonstrates appropriate knowledge or experience to be appointed as a Trade Measurement Inspector under section 18MA of the National Measurement Act 1960
