Senior Surgical Practitioner

As a General Surgery Fellow, you will play a key role in the provision and maintenance of an effective clinical service to hospital clients under the supervision of consultant surgeons.
The Fellow is jointly responsible for the daily care of acute surgical patients and the emergency operating theatre when scheduled. You will participate in breast clinic, MDT, and breast & endocrine surgery operating lists. A 24-hour on-call roster as the first point of contact, supported by a rostered-on call consultant, will facilitate your transition into independent specialist practice.
To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate excellent communication skills, a commitment to ongoing educational activities, sound theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and ethical behaviour required of a medical practitioner in General Surgery.
Mandatory requirements include holding Fellowship in General Surgery with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or recognised equivalent, MBBS or equivalent qualification registrable with the Medical Board of Australia, and Specialist Registration in General Surgery with the Medical Board of Australia at the commencement of employment.
