About the Role
As a Senior Animal Technologist at the Monash Animal Research Platform (MARP), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare while contributing to significant research endeavors. We are looking for skilled individuals from various backgrounds to apply, and we provide visa sponsorship and relocation support to facilitate a seamless transition.
In this role, you will assist the facility manager in overseeing the daily operations of a specific unit, focusing on work planning, prioritization, and the welfare of animals involved in production, care, and experimentation. You will be responsible for supplying researchers with high-quality animals and delivering exceptional service to support research projects. Additionally, you will mentor and train both senior and junior staff in animal husbandry, care, and welfare practices.
The Senior Animal Technologist is expected to stay informed about the latest methodologies, technologies, and data management practices, implementing necessary changes and training as required.
We seek candidates with a Diploma of Applied Science (Animal Technology) and relevant experience in a laboratory animal facility or a similar combination of knowledge and training. A genuine passion for animal care and a collaborative approach to work are essential attributes.
