Position Overview

Elevate your professional journey as a Senior Animal Technologist at the Monash Animal Research Platform (MARP) and contribute to significant advancements in animal care. We have multiple positions available and welcome applications from qualified candidates worldwide. Visa sponsorship and relocation assistance are provided to facilitate a seamless transition.

In this role, you will assist the facility manager in overseeing the daily operations of a specific unit, ensuring effective work planning, prioritization, and maintaining high standards of animal welfare throughout production, care, and experimentation. You will deliver high-quality animals to researchers and actively support various research projects, ensuring a professional and efficient service. Additionally, you will be responsible for supervising and training both senior and junior team members in animal husbandry, care, and welfare practices.

The Senior Animal Technologist is expected to stay informed about the latest methodologies, equipment, technology, data management, and analysis techniques, implementing necessary changes to practices and training as required.

We are looking for candidates with a Diploma of Applied Science (Animal Technology) and relevant experience in a laboratory animal facility or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A genuine passion for animal care and a collaborative work ethic are essential attributes.
