Job Overview

This is a specialist role within our Early Intervention & Family Support program. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with parents and family carers to strengthen relationships and connections with community services.

About the Role

The EIFS Specialist provides initial assessments, develops tailored support plans, identifies barriers, and delivers in-home assistance for carers. They oversee case management activity, provide expert guidance on parenting and trauma, and facilitate links to community and culture for children.

  • An accredited qualification in human services and/or relevant experience and skills.
  • A deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, along with an awareness of current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Prior experience in case management and working with vulnerable populations.
  • Knowledge of attachment, trauma theories, child development, and resilience.
  • A demonstrated commitment to collaborative working and liaising with community services, other agencies, and the community.
  • An understanding of the child protection and out-of-home care service system.
