We are seeking an experienced Support Worker to join our team in providing high-quality care services to individuals with aged and disability needs in Newcastle and Central Coast locations.

Job Description

This rewarding role involves supporting people with their daily living activities, promoting independence, and empowering them to make informed decisions about their lives. You will work closely with clients, family members, and other stakeholders to provide person-centred care and support.

  • Provide personal care support, including showering, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, preparing meals, and assisting with physical and mobility requirements.
  • Assist with personal activities such as administration, shopping, banking, attending appointments, performing house duties, washing/ironing, and medications support through Webster packs.
  • Facilitate community inclusion and participation, dependent on individual needs, abilities, and preferences.
  • Follow care plans and routines/duties/activities in a cooperative, respectful, and flexible manner.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant qualifications and/or equivalent experience, including a Certificate in Community Services/Individual Support or similar.
  • Flexibility to work rosters between 6am to 10.30pm.
  • Experience in spinal cord and brain injury care is highly desirable.
  • Manual handling, hoists/lifter, and slide sheet experience is favourable.
