Role Summary

We are looking for a seasoned cyber security professional to fill the role of Director, Cyber Security – IT Security Adviser. This EL2 position will oversee a small team of cyber experts responsible for the day-to-day operational cybersecurity of our organization and its shared service partners across three distinct networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive cybersecurity policies, plans, and procedures that align with industry standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to review and deliver cybersecurity artefacts used in Authority to Operate processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Design and deliver engaging cybersecurity training programs for staff members to enhance their knowledge and skills in protecting our organization’s assets.
  • Provide expert technical security advice on the planning and implementation of new hardware and software solutions, ensuring they meet our cybersecurity standards.
  • Brief senior executives, boards, and committees on cybersecurity matters, providing strategic recommendations to drive informed decision-making.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A strong background in cybersecurity, preferably with experience in applying ICT security services in the Australian Government sector.
  • Proven expertise in security standards for government networks, including experience in developing and implementing effective cybersecurity measures.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum
