About the Role

The Regulatory Transaction Services (RTS) team provides business and occupational licensing and not-for-profit registration services to Victorians. As a Regulatory Officer, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate execution of tasks in line with legislation and operational policies associated with CAV's licensing and registration schemes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out tasks associated with the RTS' regulatory activities, ensuring accurate, timely, and professional services are provided to regulatory clients.
  • Apply legislative requirements and operational policies to processing and decision-making responsibilities, ensuring procedures, policies, and performance standards are adhered to.
  • Update, maintain, and utilise electronic records and databases in accordance with RTS operational policy and departmental records management policies, procedures, and business rules.
  • Process incoming mail and matters creation for Consumer Affairs Victoria, in accordance with operational policy and departmental records management policies, procedures, and business rules.
Requirements

  • Planning and Organising: plan and review daily work and be flexible in meeting unforeseen circumstances while continuing to meet expectations.
  • Written Communication: produce a range of standard written documents, providing clear information and using language appropriate to the audience.
  • Verbal Communication: assess the audience and provide appropriately tailored and clear information and explanations to a range of groups, in an effective and confident manner, dealing with challenging behaviour firmly but politely.
  • Interpersonal Skills: build rapport with others in order to understand issues and suggest courses of action appropriate to their needs.
  • Problem Solving: solve problems based on operational guidelines, knowledge, and experience, scanning for useful information, looking for underlying causes, and suggesting alternative actions to clients.
  • Computer Skills: effectively use departmental computer systems for basic word processing, email, appointment scheduling, and internet and intranet functions.
  • Organisational Awareness: use an understanding of guidelines and frameworks to organise work priorities, address issues in a consistent manner, and suggest improvements.
