Job Title: Regulatory Compliance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Compliance Manager to join our team at Vocus. As a key member of our compliance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our company adheres to all relevant regulatory requirements within the energy and telecommunications industry in Australia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Compliance Program Management: Monitor and assess compliance with obligations, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and control assurance reviews.
  • Review and determine if compliance risks are breaches to obligations and whether they are reportable based on reporting requirements.
  • Review controls to ensure they are adequate to mitigate compliance risks.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and changes in legislation.
Policy and Procedure Development:
  • Create and update compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements or changes.
  • Ensure that all employees are aware of and trained on compliance policies and procedures.
  • Provide expert guidance and advice to internal teams on regulatory compliance matters.
Regulatory Response Management:
  • Manage and prepare submissions/responses to regulatory requests from energy and telecommunications retailers.
  • Ensure that all communications with regulatory bodies are accurate, legally sound, and appropriately documented and submitted within specified deadlines.
  • Review and revise responses in coordination with legal advisors to mitigate any potential legal risks.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Work closely with internal departments (e.g., legal, compliance, finance, operations) to provide guidance & advice on compliance matters.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors to clarify requirements and address inquiries.
  • Foster a culture of compliance and ethical conduct within the organisation.
Training and Awareness:
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance employee understanding of compliance requirements.
  • Promote awareness of compliance policies and procedures through various communication channels.
  • Address compliance-related questions and concerns from employees.
  • Stay informed about changes in regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for improving the organisation's compliance framework.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance compliance effectiveness.
