Main Responsibilities
  • Carer Recruitment and Authorisation: Lead foster care recruitment, conduct comprehensive assessments, and prepare reports for the Carer Authorisation Panel.
  • Training and Support: Coordinate training for carers, provide ongoing support, and collaborate with the case management team to ensure high-quality care arrangements for children and young people.
  • Placement Matching and Support: Assist carers in implementing Therapeutic Response Plans, consult on placement matching, and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Culturally Inclusive Practice: Implement trauma-informed, culturally inclusive practices with a focus on supporting Aboriginal carers and families.
  • Team Collaboration and Development: Ensure compliance, manage carer databases, supervise support staff, and participate in the on-call roster and professional development.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related discipline (or currently working towards it).
  • At least two years of experience working with children, young people, families, and carers, along with expertise in conducting comprehensive assessments.
  • Experience in culturally strengths-based practice with Aboriginal people, families, and communities.
