Building Liaison Officer Role

We are seeking an experienced Building Liaison Officer to play a key role in ensuring safe and compliant building practices across our community.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Statutory Building Services Coordinator in managing building permits and supporting the Combustible Cladding Rectification Program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality customer service through prompt and professional response to telephone and counter enquiries relating to building and cladding matters.
  • Liaising with Building Surveyors, Building Inspectors, and business support teams to ensure effective resources are allocated to complete tasks within statutory and corporate time frames.
  • Assisting in the administration and coordination of Council's Cladding Rectification Program, including providing support to stakeholders and resolving complex issues.

Requirements:

  • Local government or private sector experience in Building Certification or Building Control, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications, with attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Microsoft Word, and ability to produce high-quality documents and reports.
  • Victorian Driver's Licence.
