Job Summary:

A surgical care leader is required to lead and support front-line nursing staff in a private orthopaedics, plastics, vascular and medical overflow unit. The successful candidate will have strong clinical skills and experience in an acute care setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support front-line nursing staff with guidance from the Nurse Unit Manager.
  • Manage and coordinate clinical services to ensure efficiency and high standards of patient care.
  • Supervise, direct and motivate staff to achieve outcomes; plan and prioritise effectively; manage time across a seven-day roster.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong clinical skillset in an acute care setting with extensive Orthopaedic and Plastics experience.
  • Ability to supervise and lead staff to achieve outcomes; excellent planning and time-management skills.
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Experience coordinating shifts and managing the unit after hours.
  • Positive can-do attitude and strong leadership capabilities.
