About the Central Package of North East Link Project

The Spark Consortium, comprising Webuild, CPB Contractors, GS Engineering and Construction, and China Construction Oceania, has been selected to deliver the Central Package of Victoria's biggest road project.

This Public Private Partnership will provide three-lane twin tunnels and key interchanges for the project, reducing journey times and diverting heavy vehicles away from local roads. Up to 135,000 vehicles will use North East Link every day, maintaining local roads.

Site Engineer Role Overview

We are seeking experienced Site Engineers to join our TBM team in Watsonia. This is an excellent opportunity to start your career in tunnelling and develop your skills with our established team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate construction engineering activities to ensure projects meet plans, designs, and specifications.
  • Review and understand FRP, precast, concrete, drainage, and road formations.
  • Knowledge of tunnel underground construction practices.
  • Assist with site construction budgets and reports.
  • Monitor construction progress and report to the Project Engineer.
  • Interpret designs for implementation in construction projects.
  • Contribute to improvements in existing designs.
  • Arrange and oversee tender letting.
  • Demonstrate financial management skills and commercial acumen.
  • Assign work and assist with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards.
  • Execute working knowledge of contractual and legislation relevant to the project.
  • Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment, and quality risk assessments.
  • Analyse document and record management, progress, and project performance reporting compliance.
  • Demonstrate stakeholder management skills by managing subcontractor work and performance.

Requirements for this Role

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction, or equivalent.
  • Engineering experience.
  • Wide planning, development, and review of projects.
  • Quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects.
  • Advanced skills in relevant computer software packages.
  • Written, verbal, and presentation skills.
