Gas Procurement Specialist

This role is responsible for the strategic sourcing and supply security of natural gas requirements to maximise overall value for the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all-natural gas supply, purchase, network and service agreements to deliver optimal commercial outcomes.
  • Monitor natural gas prices and facilitate 'value in use' discussions.
  • Formulate and execute effective sourcing strategies for gas and environmental products that align with long-term sustainability and cost-efficiency goals.
  • Coordinate the negotiation, development, and formation/preparation of contracts for supply, transportation, and storage of natural gas.

This role requires some weekend work. To be successful, you will need:

  • Formal qualifications in Engineering, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in gas trading and operations in the Australian market, including coordination with AEMO pipeline operators and other market participants.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong reporting skills – SQL and Power BI expertise ideal.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and possess strong commercial acumen.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate relevant internal and external stakeholders.
