Job Title: Natural Gas Sourcing Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Natural Gas Sourcing Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and securing natural gas requirements to maximize overall value for the business.

The role will involve managing all-natural gas supply, purchase, network, and service agreements to deliver the best commercial outcomes for the business. You will also monitor natural gas prices and facilitate 'value in use' discussions with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate, execute, and manage sourcing strategies for gas and environmental products that align with long-term sustainability and cost-efficiency goals.
  • Manage the end-to-end process of negotiation, development, and formation/preparation of contracts for supply, transportation, and storage of natural gas.
  • Contribute to external energy and climate change policy advocacy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement sustainable procurement practices.
Requirements:
  • Formal qualifications in Engineering, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in gas trading and operations in the Australian market, including coordination of activities with AEMO pipeline operators and other market participants.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver on strict deadlines.
  • Strong reporting skills – SQL and Power BI experience ideal.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and possess strong commercial acumen.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate and engage relevant internal and external stakeholders.
