Job Title: Strategic Policy Officer

Salary: $83, 419 - $104, 510 per annum

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Policies: Develop and implement policies to shape the state's approach to homelessness and housing services.
  • Provide Strategic Advice: Provide strategic advice on housing and homelessness policy and service reform to the Director, Homelessness Services Transformation.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Collaborate with government and non-government agencies to ensure strong relationships and effective interface between program development, planning, and policy implementation.
  • Manage Complex Projects: Manage complex strategic projects, including the delivery of high-quality project documentation and processes.
  • Provide High-Quality Advice: Provide high-quality, evidence-based advice in relation to strategic directions to a wide range of stakeholders, including Ministers, senior executives, and other government and non-government agencies.
  • Undertake Research and Analysis: Undertake high-level research and analysis to inform the development of homelessness policy, programs, processes, systems, and reporting.
  • Identify Key Policy Issues: Identify key policy and program issues and trends in relation to strategic directions.
  • Facilitate Consultation: Facilitate consultation and communication with stakeholders to inform the development of housing and homelessness policies, programs, processes, systems, and reporting.
  • Evaluate Policies and Programs: Undertake complex evaluations of policies and programs of homelessness and high needs initiatives to review policy and program strategic directions.
  • Represent the Department: Collaborate with government and non-government agencies to identify opportunities for service integration initiatives to enhance outcomes for consumers, representing the Department in cross-government deliberations about service development initiatives.

  • Employment-Related Screening Check: An Employment-Related Screening Check may be required for this role.
  • Driver's Licence: A current Australian-issued driver's licence (equivalent to minimum class C) is required for this role.
