Job Description

Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service is seeking a highly skilled Senior Infection Prevention and Control Specialist to lead the reprocessing of reusable medical devices. The ideal candidate will possess advanced clinical leadership and expertise, ensuring compliance with AS5369 Standard.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To provide expert guidance and oversight on reprocessing procedures across various departments and services.
  • Maintain infrastructure and processes in line with industry standards, including regular audits and quality assurance activities.
  • Support adherence to best practices and infection prevention standards within the hospital, promoting a culture of excellence.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Nursing registration through AHPRA and relevant postgraduate qualifications.
  • Certificate III in Sterilisation or equivalent, along with GENCA endoscopy reprocessing training.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent, demonstrating teaching and mentoring skills.
  • Extensive experience in senior nursing roles, focusing on Infection Prevention and Control.
  • Working knowledge of software used in clinical environments, including Microsoft Windows and Excel.
