Our organization is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to join our team in a permanent full-time capacity.

The successful candidate will have strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work in an inclusive and team-orientated environment. They will be responsible for providing Project Accounting across various sites, including provision of Group Redevelopment accounting and reporting along with business partnering support to Project Management teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly project finance reports, including variance analysis, actuals, commitments and estimate to complete forecasts along with reviews of progress claims and variation orders.
  • Ensure all project accounting activities are completed in accordance with monthly timetables and company policies / standards.
  • Review transactional information to ensure correctly allocated / coded to the project Prepare and process month end accrual and other journals associated with the project.
  • Assist with the completion of purchase order requisitions and ensure purchase orders have been received and approved in the financial system.
  • Communicate monthly project results to senior management and external stakeholders as required.
  • Prepare capitalization schedules of assets throughout the project and maintain the relevant fixed asset registers.
  • Prepare and submit relevant project acquittals of any gift funds associated with projects.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and ensure that all reconciling items are actioned and cleared on a timely basis.
  • Support project managers and other project team caregivers with any finance related requests.
  • Maintain project specific work breakdown and task structures within Oracle Projects, ensuring project budgets and forecasts are accurately maintained.

Requirements:

  • A tertiary level qualification in Accounting or Commerce.
  • A CA or CPA qualification.
  • 1-2 years' experience within project and/or capital accounting.
  • Sound knowledge of month end deliverables, accounting and finance practices and processes and accounting standards particularly when applied to project and capital accounting.
  • Exposure to a large ERP system (Oracle preferred).

Benefits:

  • Salary: $103,303 to $114,732 per annum, plus 12% superannuation.
  • Permanent full-time position, working 76 hours per fortnight.
