The role of the Project Accounting Specialist is pivotal in the financial management of our projects. This part-time position offers an opportunity to support a dynamic environment by ensuring efficient and accurate financial management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the monthly invoicing cycle for all projects, ensuring timely and accurate payment.
  • Enter new project proposals accurately into Xero, guaranteeing seamless project tracking.
  • Review weekly staff timesheets to confirm hours billed, facilitating transparent financial reporting.
  • Track and allocate costs appropriately, maintaining accurate project accounting records.
  • Link invoices to the correct projects, streamlining the financial management process.
  • Manage project variations and close completed projects, minimizing financial risks.
  • Conduct financial deep-dives with Project Directors, providing insightful financial analysis.
  • Develop and maintain project financial tracking spreadsheets, including invoice reconciliation and progress tracking.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for the Directors and Management Team using Xero, enhancing informed decision-making.
  • Assist in broader strategic financial forecasting with guidance from Management, driving business growth.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in financial management, ideally within a design, consulting, or architecture environment. They will be proficient in Xero and Excel, and have experience working with consultants and managing sub-consultant financials.
