We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Statutory Engineer to join our team in Hobart. As a Mechanical Compliance Specialist, you will use your skills and knowledge to manage the governance of our plant's statutory obligations and play a pivotal role in leading audits, technical and engineering support for our Asset Management Department. You will be responsible for upholding quality standards and drive excellence in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist advice on the application of Australian and company standards, along with providing technical advice on engineering-related matters.
  • Management of all site-registered equipment including forecasting requirements with Work Safe Tasmania (WST).
  • Provide input to Nyrstar Group capital and asset management improvement and review activities.
  • Development of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), maintenance work instructions, and Hobart procedures.
  • Develop and improve systems and processes for the ongoing management of statutory requirements and site safety risks.
  • Be abreast of changes in regulations and industry standards to ensure the company remains in compliance.
  • Conducting internal audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience. Requirements

To be successful in this position, you need to have a relevant engineering degree at Bachelor's level or above, auditing or a detailed appreciation of auditing, investigation training – ICAM or equivalent methodology, ability and enthusiasm to drive and implement improvements, prior experience in both project and maintenance engineering, excellent problem-solving abilities coupled with strong analytical skills, clear and effective communication skills, with an ability to influence, capacity to perform well under pressure and thrive in a demanding environment, experience with SAP (preferred), and experience in the heavy industry sector.
