About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager to oversee government façade projects within the commercial construction sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of the project, from planning and design through to execution and completion, ensuring that all aspects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Initiation:
    Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, cost estimates, and resource allocation.
    Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
    Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure project alignment with client and government requirements.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    Liaise with government officials, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
    Manage client expectations and provide regular updates on project progress.
    Facilitate clear communication between all parties involved.
  • Budget and Cost Control:
    Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
    Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving measures where necessary.
    Prepare financial reports and forecasts for senior management.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    Ensure that all construction work meets industry standards, government regulations, and project specifications.
    Oversee quality control inspections and resolve any non-compliance issues.
    Maintain comprehensive documentation of project activities and decisions.
  • Project Execution:
    Coordinate and supervise construction activities to ensure they are completed on time and to the required quality.
    Manage site logistics, including labor, materials, and equipment.
    Address and resolve any issues or delays that may arise during construction.
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental Management:
    Implement and enforce health and safety policies and procedures on-site.
    Conduct regular safety audits and ensure compliance with government safety regulations.
    Promote a culture of safety among all team members and subcontractors.
  • Project Closure and Handover:
    Oversee the final inspection and handover process to the client.
    Ensure all project documentation is complete and accurate.
    Conduct post-project evaluations and identify lessons learned for future projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the commercial construction sector, with a focus on government façade projects.
  • Strong understanding of Australian building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore).
  • PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
