
Dialysis Nurse Specialist

The role of Dialysis Nurse Specialist involves providing expert clinical care to patients undergoing dialysis home therapy.
- Ensure safe and effective treatment plans are implemented and maintained.
- Educate patients, families, and healthcare staff on peritoneal dialysis and haemodialysis.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care as needed to support optimal outcomes.
- Act as a key point of contact for patients, offering guidance and support throughout their therapy.
The ideal candidate will have current nursing registration, post-registration qualification in renal or working towards same, and a minimum of 24 months previous experience in renal nursing and/or peritoneal dialysis. Experience with haemodialysis and patient and staff education is also desirable.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families.
- Monitor and maintain accurate records of patient progress.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA.
- Post-registration qualification in Renal or working towards same.
- Minimum 24 months previous experience in Renal Nursing and/or Peritoneal Dialysis.
- Desirable: Minimum 12 months experience in Haemodialysis and experience in patient and staff education.
