Job Opportunity: Financial Assistance Scheme Officer

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as an Intake and Triage Officer within the Victims of Crime Financial Assistance Scheme.

This full-time opportunity involves providing critical support to victims of crime through the provision of financial assistance. The role requires strong technical expertise, commitment to reflective practice, and proficiency in case management systems.

About the Role:

This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with relevant qualifications in community services, social work, criminology, psychology, victim services, or family violence to make a real difference in the lives of victims of crime.

  • To be successful in this position, you will need to have proven experience delivering trauma-informed support services and a strong understanding of family violence, sexual assault, and victim services.
  • You will also need to be committed to reflective practice and continuous service improvement, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a high-performing team.
  • Additionally, you should be proficient in case management systems such as Salesforce and possess a relevant qualification in one of the specified fields.

The Financial Assistance Scheme represents a major leap forward in the government's response to victims of crime. Established under the Victims of Crime (Financial Assistance Scheme) Act 2022, the FAS provides financial assistance through a simple and easy-to-navigate process that is fair, sensitive, and responsive to victims' needs.

This scheme has been designed to ensure that victims of crime receive timely and effective support, and we are committed to continually improving our services to meet the evolving needs of our clients.
