Job Description:

As a Farm Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic planning and hands-on management of farm operations. This role involves coordinating day-to-day activities, overseeing staff, maintaining property and equipment, and ensuring the health and welfare of livestock.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Train and mentor junior staff
  • Operate farm management tools and support daily operations using basic computer skills
  • Interpret nutritionist feed sheets and apply to TMR calculations
  • Maintain modern machinery including mixer wagons, side by sides, front-end loader tractors, and JCB loaders
  • Oversee beef cattle breeding programs
  • Feed livestock and monitor animal health and welfare
  • Develop and implement beef cattle feeding plans and identify beef cattle health and nutrition problems
  • Apply low-stress stock handling techniques
  • Repair and upkeep fencing and water systems
  • Establish and maintain pastures and fodder crops for beef cattle production
  • Improve farm infrastructure
  • Manage pasture health and rotational grazing practices
Requirements:
  • Proven experience working with beef cattle and sheep across various production stages
  • Competency in operating and maintaining modern farm machinery
  • Strong understanding of animal welfare and low-stress stock handling
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team environment
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
