Fire and Explosion Investigator

The Forensic Services Department is an accredited laboratory providing a professional forensic service to the administration of justice and the public.
The primary function of this role is to investigate suspicious fires and explosions, perform laboratory examinations, and provide technical assistance in crime scene investigations.
- Investigate fires throughout Victoria, determining cause and origin.
- Post-blast investigation of explosion scenes.
- Investigation of explosive devices and scenes.
- Assist with crime scene investigations related to fires and explosions.
- Conduct laboratory-based analysis of casework samples.
- Present factual evidence in Courts of Law.
This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
A degree in a relevant field or significant experience in forensic science or a related discipline is essential.
