The Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit is responsible for examining fires and explosions, conducting laboratory tests on items related to these incidents.
The unit provides various services, including:
- Investigating fire scenes across Victoria
- Laboratory analysis of samples collected from fire and explosion scenes
- Delivering training courses on post-blast and pre-blast investigations, as well as fire investigations in a forensic and policing context
- Providing expert advice on fires, explosions, and explosives
