Youth Mental Health Specialist GP

Headspace National Youth Mental Health Foundation Ltd is seeking a dedicated General Practitioner to join its team at headspace Goulburn, Wollongong and Nowra centres.
About the RoleThe ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young people aged 12-25 years and be committed to providing high-quality, bulk-billed services as part of a collaborative and holistic model of care.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide medical consultations to young people as part of a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, counsellors, youth workers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement individualised treatment plans that address the physical and mental health needs of young people.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case consultations to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients.
As a member of the headspace team, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment that encourages ongoing and therapeutic relationships with clients. The role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people and contribute to the development of their physical and mental wellbeing.
You will also be part of a larger not-for-profit primary health organisation, Grand Pacific Health, which operates across the Illawarra, Shoalhaven, and Southern NSW region. This provides access to a range of professional development opportunities, resources, and support networks.
RequirementsTo be considered for this role, you will need to be a registered General Practitioner with a strong commitment to working with young people and mental health. A sound understanding of adolescent development, psychology, and relevant legislation is essential.
A strong communication and interpersonal skills are required, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Experience in mental health or youth-focused practice would be highly regarded.
Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per annumThis estimate is based on national averages for General Practitioners in similar roles and locations. The actual salary offered may vary depending on factors such as level of experience and qualifications.
