Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Trades Assistant to support the Defence Fuel Network across Australia.

The Role

You will be based at Pearce RAAF Base, supporting surrounding locations with occasional regional travel. Your duties will include:

  • Scoping mechanical and electrical work activities
  • Procurement of materials and creation of work packs
  • Management of maintenance documentation on Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
  • Coordination of contractors including obtaining quotes and documentation
  • Assisting maintenance technicians in field works
  • Support various sites in the region, with occasional requirement to travel to various sites throughout WA
  • General administration & ad hoc duties as required
Requirements

To be successful, you will be a strong team player, self-starter and dedicated employee who can draw on your experience and diverse skills to deliver high quality outcomes. You will need:

  • Previous labouring or trade (mechanical) experience
  • Experience with SAP based Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
  • Experience preparing permit to work documentation and risk assessments
  • Safety is at the forefront of everything you do
  • Currently hold, or ability to obtain appropriate Defence Security Clearance
  • Savvy IT / computer literacy & skills
