Job Opportunity: Trades Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Trades Assistant to join our team at Pearce RAAF Base in Bullsbrook, Perth WA.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity involves working in the Australian Defence environment to support national security and contribute to a Tier 1 services provider on a long-term contract.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Scoping mechanical and electrical work activities
  • Procurement of materials and creation of work packs
  • Management of maintenance documentation on Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
  • Coordination of contractors including obtaining quotes and documentation
  • Assisting maintenance technicians in field works
  • Supporting various sites in the region, with occasional requirement to travel to various sites throughout WA
  • General administration & ad hoc duties as required
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous labouring or trade (mechanical) experience
  • Experience with SAP based Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
  • Experience preparing permit to work documentation and risk assessments
  • A strong focus on safety
  • Current Defence Security Clearance or ability to obtain it
  • Savvy IT / computer literacy & skills
